Kite Festival @ KDV

Welcome to the very first The Gold Coast Kite Festival! Present by ABRASSO and VOANDO ALTO, it will be a fantastic day for the whole family with the most spectacular kites ever seen over the skies of our city. A sea of colouful beautiful Brazilian crafted masterpieces, called PIPA. With lots of fun activities, kite workshops and a kite exposition, this is going to be a day not to be missed.

Voando Alto is an initiative of a group of Brazilians who are passionate about the art of "PIPA" that aims to spread the art of paper and bamboo to the world. The group has always been involved in Kite festivals in Brazil, and now they participate in festivals throughout Australia, representing Brazil in international festivals and promoting activities and workshops in partnership with cultural groups.

Remember the good old times in Brazil, bring your children to learn and practice this activity that is so famous and is a part of the childhood of many of us, and have a lot of fun. We'll wait for you to “empinar” together!
